Dec 2019 Grads

Our December 2019 high school graduates celebrating their accomplishments and looking forward to the next chapter of their schooling.

Program Highlights

The Post High School Sponsorship Program goes into a fund that helps all of the students. Our goal is to help our students succeed as contributing adults in Kenya’s society. Examples include seed money for a new business or equipment needed to pursue job opportunity.

We have an application process that requires review by our PHS Committee with a recommendation from Shangilia’s Leadership Team, a written essay, and required checkpoints such as grades, reports, and donor communication.

As a Donor You Will Receive…

  • 2 - 3 letters from one of the student’s in the program

  • Annual Sponsorship Card highlighting all the students in the program

What does this cost?

Typically, we have seen that each student pays about $2,700 USD - $3,300 USD per year. This covers all their expenses (food, housing, tuition, transportation, etc.).

  • University: 2 semesters for 4 years

  • College: 3 terms for 3 years

Thank You from Shangilia’s Director, Alex

“We, at Shangilia Children’s Home, greatly appreciate our donors for their constant support to our post high school students. Your support helps to further our mission through providing education hence life transformation for the needy children.

Higher education is vital for our students. It provides a competitive edge for our students in the career market. Nowadays, its very hard to find jobs. The number of unemployed people is very high, and the number of new career opportunities isn’t enough to put people in jobs they are seeking. Those seeking for jobs are competing with a high number of experienced workers. Post high school education helps to equip students for better job security. It’s also one of the best exit plans for our care leavers. Transition would be very stressful for the students if there was no plan to help them transit smoothly through learning and hence the end result is transformation.

On behalf of Shangilia management, I want to appreciate our sponsors for their very support that is extended in the very form of sponsorship. Your kindness and generosity is actually giving our students an opportunity to fulfill their purpose and dreams. All I want is just to say thank you for all of your support and help which is extended through the very way of your sponsorship. Thank you so much and God bless you.”

My name is Samuel. I'm pursuing Nursing at Kenya Medical Training College. So far, the experience is great. Nursing is a profession of my choice and is out of my desire to be part in the field of health promotion besides being one of the marketable courses in my country due to our vulnerable communities in terms of health. This gives me hope for a bright future. I don't know where I would be now without your help. Therefore, I just want to take this opportunity to thank LOVE FOR KENYA for your great support...
